40% of employees will need new job training as a result of AI
A study showed that 40% of employees need to acquire new job skills over the next three years due to AI development
A recent report by IBM suggests that the influx of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation is prompting employees to update their AI-related skills. The report reveals that around 1.4 billion individuals will be impacted by the introduction of AI and automation. A survey conducted among thousands of C-suite executives indicates that within the next three years, approximately 40% of workers will require fresh job skills.
The report draws insights from two preceding studies—one involving 3,000 C-level executives across 28 countries, and the other encompassing 21,000 workers in 22 nations. The study underscores a divide in perspectives, with some employees fearing displacement due to AI while 87% of executives believe that AI will augment job roles rather than replace them.
