According to a UN study, AI is more likely to enhance jobs than to replace them

The report indicates that generative AI tends to complement and enhance jobs instead of replacing them

The International Labour Organization (ILO), a United Nations entity, recently released a report assessing the impact of platforms like ChatGPT on job quantity and quality. The report reveals that while many jobs and industries are only partially exposed to automation, the latest wave of generative AI, like ChatGPT, is more likely to complement most jobs rather than replace them. The ILO emphasized that the technology's primary influence is expected to bring about changes in the nature of jobs, particularly concerning work intensity and independence.

Additionally, the report underscores that the effects of this technology will vary significantly across professions and regions, raising concerns about potential gender-specific impacts, with women possibly facing greater job changes than men. Among job categories, clerical work exhibits the highest technological exposure, with about a quarter of its tasks highly exposed and over half with medium-level exposure.
