AI is creating 3 new types of jobs
There's a growing demand for AI and machine learning specialists in the job market
The AI boom is not only leading to the obsolescence of certain jobs but is also paving the way for the creation of new ones. According to a white paper by the World Economic Forum titled 'Jobs of Tomorrow: Large Language Models and Jobs', three significant areas have emerged in the AI job market.
Firstly, "Trainers" such as electrical engineers are crucial in the AI domain, especially with the rising demand for custom microchips to train and operate Large Language Models (LLMs). These chips, designed using AI tools, are enhancing our design capabilities rather than replacing human roles.
Secondly, "Explainers" are professionals who design user-friendly AI interfaces, making AI more accessible and tailoring it to various user inputs like text and voice commands. This role is instrumental in the development of personalized AI assistants, tutors, and coaches.
Lastly, "Sustainers" encompass roles like content creators, data curators, and ethics specialists who ensure the responsible and unbiased use of AI. They play a pivotal role in testing AI rigorously and might lead to the emergence of AI safety officers and ethicists.
Beyond these specific roles, there's a growing demand for AI and machine learning specialists in the job market. The World Economic Forum underscores the importance of responsible AI development and offers 30 key recommendations to ensure a prosperous future in the age of AI.
