Elon Musk anticipates that AI will result in a future where there are no jobs

Musk stated that AI advancements will usher in a world where there is "no necessity for employment."

Elon Musk expressed an optimistic perspective on the impact of AI on the job market, envisioning a future where AI advancements render jobs unnecessary. While individuals may still choose to work for personal fulfillment, Musk believes that AI will eventually be capable of handling all tasks. He proposed the concept of "universal high income" as a means of supporting people in this AI-driven world, considering it a superior alternative to universal basic income, although he didn't clarify the differences between the two concepts. Musk foresees a future characterized by abundance, where goods and services are readily available, making AI a tool for economic equality.

However, Musk also cautioned about potential challenges, such as the need for careful consideration of what humanity "wishes for" as AI becomes increasingly powerful. He emphasized the importance of regulating AI and suggested solutions, such as an "off switch" and keywords for controlling humanoid robots to ensure safety. Despite these concerns, Musk's overall assessment is that AI is likely to have a predominantly positive impact, with 80% of its effects being beneficial and 20% potentially problematic.
