Europe is achieving exceptional success in AI
European technology has notably begun to recover, with aAI driving this progress. According to a new study by the British company Atomico, Europe has become home to a larger number of highly skilled professionals in this field compared to the United States. This remarkable progress comes after a decade of rapid growth, with the number of people working in AI across Europe increasing by a staggering 1000%.
The European job market is witnessing a flow of talent towards some startup companies. In 2023, AI companies in Europe secured 11 out of 36 massive funding rounds, each worth $100 million or more. These rounds included the French AI company Mistrall, which raised 105 million euros in the largest founding round ever on the continent, and Alpha, which raised 460 million euros in its second funding round. This success extends to other European companies working in artificial intelligence, contributing to Europe's ecosystem's overall recovery, estimated at $3 trillion.
Tom Wehmeier, Chief Intelligence Officer at Atomico, offered a positive assessment of the European technology environment, stating that it has become more stable and confident after significant improvements since the beginning of the pandemic. Alongside the success of artificial intelligence, the European tech workforce has experienced significant growth in recent years, leading to increased job opportunities and boosting the digital economy.
