Eyenai' debuts as Saudi Arabia's pioneering solution for AI-driven eye examinations
"Eyenai" has been launched, the first local solution for eye screening using AI, to detect diabetic retinopathy.
A consortium, including Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital, Lean Business Services, and Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence, unveiled "Eyenai," Saudi Arabia's first locally-developed AI-driven ophthalmic solution. This innovative diagnostic tool, designed to detect diabetic retinopathy, marks a major step forward in regional medical diagnostics, emphasizing the nation's commitment to harnessing AI for healthcare.
"Eyenai" aims to revolutionize eye screening in Saudi Arabia by offering a more accessible, cost-effective, and accurate process for detecting diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Adi Alowaifeer, Chairman of Eyenai Management Committee, lauded the initiative as an embodiment of Saudi Arabia's healthcare innovation spirit. Eyenai stations are presently operational in Riyadh, with plans for expansion across the Kingdom.
