Meta introduces new AI tools designed for video asset creation and image editing
The new tools are set to be rolled out to both Instagram and Facebook
Meta has unveiled two new generative AI tools designed for video asset creation and picture editing. These tools, Emu Video and Emu Edit, will eventually be integrated into Facebook and Instagram. They allow content creators to quickly generate videos and edit images using simple text prompts, significantly reducing the time spent on back-and-forth communication between creative and media teams. This streamlined access to diverse creative options can also serve as inspiration for marketers, enabling them to focus on strategic tasks like audience analysis.
Emu Video, based on Meta's "Emu" AI research project, empowers creators to generate short video clips and animate user-provided images with text prompts, setting a new standard for quality and efficiency. On the other hand, Emu Edit is a versatile picture editing tool that can handle various tasks such as local and global edits, background manipulation, color and geometry transformations, detection, segmentation, and more. It accurately follows instructions, ensuring that unwanted changes do not occur in the input image. While these tools are not meant to replace professional artists and animators, they offer exciting possibilities for self-expression and creative endeavors.
