Microsoft is launching a new application using AI to assist the blind and visually impaired on Android devices. The application provides an audible description of places and objects surrounding the person, enabling reading emails, identifying products, and hearing descriptions of images. Additionally, users can direct their smartphone's camera to describe image content and utilize other features like handwriting text recognition and color identification.
The application is currently available for iPhone and iPad devices running iOS, and future versions will include additional improvements based on user feedback. This is part of Microsoft's efforts to provide support to the largest possible number of users with visual impairments.
