The five-point playbook underscores the potential of AI to empower governments, businesses, and society in expediting sustainability efforts

Microsoft has released a playbook titled "Accelerating Sustainability with AI: A Playbook" ahead of COP28 in Dubai. The playbook provides a comprehensive strategy for leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to achieve a net-zero, climate-resilient, and nature-positive future. Microsoft's CVP and President of CEMA, Samer Abu-Ltaif, emphasized the importance of collaboration among governments, businesses, and civil society to combat climate change using AI. The playbook highlights three key abilities of AI: pattern recognition, prediction, and optimization; speeding up solution discovery; and empowering the sustainability workforce. It outlines a five-point approach to foster AI innovation for sustainability.

Microsoft will present the playbook at COP28 as a Climate Supporter and Climate Innovator partner, showcasing its Cloud for Sustainability suite and AI for Earth and AI for Good programs, demonstrating how AI is integrated into its products to support net-zero goals and address environmental challenges globally.
