Microsoft unveils Copilot and incorporates new enhancements for its AI tools within its services
These updates from Microsoft represent significant progress in the development and integration of AI into its range of products
In an attention-grabbing move, Microsoft announced at the Ignite conference significant updates to its AI-powered paid services. The most notable of these updates is the renaming of "Bing Chat" and "Bing Chat for Business" to "Copilot." This change represents a significant step towards integrating artificial intelligence into Microsoft's products and services.
This step comes with the provision of a separate web-based experience for Copilot, making it easier to access from any web browser, not just through Bing or Windows. To access Copilot, users need to log in using their Microsoft accounts. For business customers using Bing Chat, they can use their credentials in "Microsoft Entra" for access.
The "Copilot Studio" feature is a low-code tool that allows users to create customized versions of Copilot for specific tasks within Microsoft 365. It is currently available as a trial version.
In Microsoft Teams, new features have been introduced, such as AI-powered noise reduction and the "Decorate Your Background" feature. Additionally, users will be able to create avatar images for meeting attendance in 3D environments, a feature set to be available in the coming January.
Finally, the company announced the "Azure AI Speech" feature, enabling users to create video clips of lifelike speaking avatars from inputted text. This feature is currently available in the public preview. These updates from Microsoft represent significant progress in integrating AI technologies into its products and services, promising substantial changes in how users interact with these technologies in the future.
