Microsoft unveils new AI tools to streamline data access and transform healthcare

Microsoft's tools save time for medical providers by simplifying the process of searching through multiple sources, enabling them to prioritize patient care

Microsoft has unveiled a suite of data and artificial intelligence products aimed at aiding healthcare organizations in accessing and utilizing the vast amounts of medical information collected by hospitals and doctors. The healthcare sector generates over 30% of global data, but much of it remains untapped due to its dispersed nature.

Microsoft's newly introduced tools can consolidate data from various sources, such as electronic health records and medical devices, streamlining access and standardization. This move is expected to eliminate the time-consuming process of searching through disparate data sources.

In addition to Fabric, Microsoft introduced new Azure AI health tools, including a generative AI chatbot named the Azure AI Health Bot, which can access internal data and external sources like the FDA. They also announced Text Analytics for health, capable of extracting medical data from unstructured sources in multiple languages.

Furthermore, Azure AI Health Insights offers three new models to provide clinicians with simplified patient timelines, understandable clinical reports, and enhanced radiology insights. These tools are designed to improve patient experiences and help healthcare professionals make more informed decisions. The solutions are available in a preview capacity starting now.
