A significant majority of UAE employees, constituting 67 percent, anticipate substantial changes in their work environment due to artificial intelligence (AI) within the next year, based on a survey conducted by LinkedIn. Moreover, the research reveals that 72 percent of Emirates workers expect AI to have a significant impact on their jobs over the next five years. In an intriguing finding, 81 percent of respondents foresee AI acting as an "invisible teammate" that aids them in their professional tasks within the next five years. This data reflects a growing acceptance and eagerness among UAE professionals to embrace AI technologies, with many believing that AI will enhance their productivity, work-life balance, and overall career prospects.
As AI continues to advance and integrate into workplaces worldwide, it is expected to bring about significant transformations in various industries. According to the World Economic Forum, approximately one in four jobs is projected to change within the next five years due to the maturation of generative AI, affecting both job creation and job displacement. However, UAE professionals remain optimistic about the potential AI holds for their careers, with 98 percent expressing excitement about its use at work, while 97 percent believe it will positively influence their career progression. Additionally, employees in the UAE recognize the growing importance of interpersonal skills alongside AI, emphasizing qualities such as problem-solving, time management, resilience, and strategic thinking in their evolving work landscape.
