NEP launched 13 reports on AI's impact on UAE's key sectors
The National Experts Program (NEP) has released 13 reports authored by its 30 participants, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and its significance in addressing challenges and driving growth in key sectors of the UAE. These comprehensive reports delve into the potential disruption and advancement AI technologies can bring to strategically vital sectors in UAE's development.
NEP 30 participants have explored effective ways for their respective sectors to harness AI, gaining insights through engaging workshops and sessions as part of the 'AI Journey' within the program. The Mohamed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in Abu Dhabi played a pivotal role in equipping participants with crucial AI knowledge.
These reports cover a wide array of topics aligned with UAE's key economic sectors, including Economic Development, Health and Well-Being, Policy and Government Services, Community Development and Social Services, Mobility and Logistics, Education, Tourism and Hospitality, Culture, Food and Water Security, and Advanced Sciences and Research. They also delve into the applications of AI in areas such as wildlife ecology, space exploration, and electricity markets.
These reports arrive at a time when the UAE is intensifying its adoption of advanced technologies, with government entities integrating AI into critical sectors, aligned with digital advancements. It is projected that AI could contribute $320 billion to the Middle East economy by 2030. NEP's Director, Ahmed Talib Al Shamsi, emphasized the importance of understanding AI's transformative impact and how it can enhance various sectors, reflecting the program's commitment to nurturing future leaders and advancing the nation's knowledge-based economy.
NEP has played a significant role since its establishment in 2019, contributing to the development of 61 Emirati specialists across 43 sectors, enriching their knowledge and leadership skills for national strategic projects.
