Nearly 50% of European employees expect AI to significantly impact their jobs by 2024
Employees in Europe feel anxious due to their attempts to keep up with the rapid developments in their workplaces
A recent survey conducted by LinkedIn among over 10,000 workers across Europe, including the UK, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy, has unveiled significant concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on their jobs. Almost half of the respondents, around 45%, anticipate a "significant" transformation in their work roles within the next year due to AI advancements. Many of these workers expressed feelings of overwhelm and anxiety about keeping up with the rapid developments in their workplaces.
The survey also highlighted a willingness to adapt and learn, with roughly half of the participants expressing a desire to acquire more knowledge about AI, even though 59% currently lack formal training from their employers. Additionally, the importance of soft skills such as problem-solving, time management, and strategic thinking was emphasized, as they are expected to become increasingly vital in a future with greater AI and automation integration.
