In a groundbreaking initiative, the Oman government conducted the world's first completely online Shura Council election, announcing results in real-time using generative artificial intelligence (AI). This innovative approach was made possible through a partnership with London-based Yepic AI, a generative AI startup. Yepic AI's technology enabled the creation of high-quality, multilingual videos from a single photo, featuring custom avatars that represent the Omani community. These avatars were used to deliver election results to citizens throughout the day, enhancing the visual and interactive experience.

The election reporting process was driven by AI from start to finish, including AI-powered facial recognition for online voting verification. The results were compiled and announced using scripts generated by a specialized large language model (LLM) developed by AiCubes, and then presented by Yepic AI's AI presenters.

Over 10,000 advanced videos were produced in six languages and disseminated across various provinces, aiming to increase civic engagement by providing more personalized and engaging information.
