OpenAI partners with G42 to advance AI adoption in UAE and Middle East

This collaboration aims to advance the technology industry in the UAE
OpenAI has partnered with Abu Dhabi-based tech conglomerate G42 to promote the adoption of artificial intelligence in the UAE and the Middle East. G42, which was founded by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, plans to leverage OpenAI's generative AI models across various sectors, including finance, energy, healthcare, and public services.
While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, this partnership is part of a broader initiative aimed at advancing the technology industry in the UAE.
G42 has been a pioneer in AI adoption in the UAE, having recently developed the world's largest supercomputer for AI training in collaboration. Additionally, Abu Dhabi's Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) made its Falcom 40B large language model open source for research and commercial use. OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, visited Abu Dhabi during his AI "world tour" in June, advocating for international regulation of AI developments.
