Saudi Arabia achieved the first place globally by winning medals in the Youth AI Competition, which saw participation from 40 countries
Saudi Arabia takes the lead in the Global Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition after winning 11 gold, silver, and bronze medals.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia secured the top spot globally by winning the highest number of medals in the Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition (WAICY). Over 18,000 students from 40 countries participated in the competition. Saudi Arabia earned a total of 11 gold, silver, and bronze medals, surpassing the United States, India, Greece, Canada, and Singapore. Multiple Saudi projects also emerged victorious in various competition categories, reflecting the increasing awareness of AI technologies in Saudi society and the Kingdom's efforts in their development.
The competition reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to promoting AI education and encouraging youth participation in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SADAIA) and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) were honored with the Outstanding Organization Award at the global level in recognition of their efforts in this field.
