Saudi Arabia is boosting transport sector with AI and tech innovations
This trend underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to revolutionizing its transportation sector with innovative technology
Saudi Arabia's transport and logistics sector is undergoing a major transformation, driven by the integration of advanced technology and artificial intelligence. This shift, as highlighted by Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh Al-Jasser at the fifth Smart Transport, Infrastructure, and Logistics Exhibition and Conference for the Middle East and Africa in Cairo, aims to enhance performance efficiency, support sustainable development, and bolster the national economy. The Kingdom's Vision 2030 plays a pivotal role in this transformation, aspiring to position Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub and improve the quality of life in its cities.
The National Transport and Logistics Strategy underlines ambitious goals, including doubling the sector's contribution to the GDP and elevating Saudi Arabia into the top 10 of the Logistics Performance Index. Key initiatives include increasing public transportation usage, reducing carbon emissions, expanding airport and port capacities, and enhancing safety measures in transportation. The introduction of autonomous mobility technologies, such as air taxis and autonomous pods, particularly in projects like NEOM and Red Sea Global, marks a significant step towards sustainable transportation. This transformation, showcased at a conference attended by transport ministers from various Arab countries, demonstrates Saudi Arabia's commitment to revolutionizing its transport sector through innovative technologies.
