Tesla's AI Robot masters yoga, color sorting, and autonomous adaptation
The AI robot "Optimus" autonomously sorted objects by color with ease
Tesla's humanoid robot, Optimus, has showcased remarkable abilities in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter). Optimus effortlessly performs yoga, gestures "namaste," and autonomously sorts objects by color, mirroring human-like speed and precision.
The video, which has garnered over 11 million views, highlights the robot's proficiency in sorting objects, correcting mistakes, and adapting to changing circumstances, even in the presence of human interaction. Tesla emphasizes that Optimus can now self-calibrate its limbs and spatially locate them using vision and joint position encoders.
In a significant development, Tesla's official account for Optimus invites collaboration, stating that the robot's neural network is fully trained end-to-end, enabling autonomous object sorting.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to the video with a single word: "Progress." The company's ongoing efforts focus on creating a versatile, bipedal, autonomous humanoid robot capable of handling monotonous, repetitive, or hazardous tasks.
