Undestanidng ChatGPT tool's interface for beginners
Upon logging in to your OpenAI account on ChatGPT, you'll encounter its interface with features like new chats and chat history
Once logged into your OpenAI account on the ChatGPT website, you'll encounter ChatGPT tool's interface. Here's a breakdown of its components:
1. New chat & hide sidebar buttons: On the left side, there's a "New chat" button that lets you start a fresh conversation whenever you want. This is beneficial because the ChatGPT model retains conversation context. Beginning a new chat prevents context from carrying over.
2. Chat history: The left sidebar contains your previous conversations for easy reference, although you can disable chat history if desired. You can modify chat titles, share histories, or delete them.
3. Account: Clicking on your email or name at the bottom left provides access to your account information. This includes settings, logout option, and OpenAI's help and FAQs. If you lack ChatGPT Plus, there's an "Upgrade to Plus" button.
4. Your prompts: This area displays the questions or prompts you give the AI chatbot.
5. ChatGPT's responses: When ChatGPT answers your queries, its logo appears on the left. Each response has buttons for Copy, Thumbs Up, and Thumbs Down. You can copy text to your clipboard, offer feedback on response accuracy, which aids in refining the AI's performance.
6. Regenerate response: If you encounter issues or an unsatisfactory response, clicking "Regenerate response" prompts ChatGPT to generate a new reply for the most recent prompt.
7. Text area: This is where you enter prompts and questions. Pressing Enter sends your input.
8. ChatGPT version: Below the text input area, there's a disclaimer indicating that this is a "Free Research Preview" and that ChatGPT may provide inaccurate information about certain subjects. The section also displays the current version of the ChatGPT model you're using.
