Utilizing AI in journalism: A new step for two French newspapers
Two French newspapers are utilizing AI for proofreading
The two French newspapers "L'Est Républicain" and "Vosges Matin" intend to use the AI chatbot ChatGPT for linguistic verification and correction of content written by local correspondents. This is the first time a French journalistic group has announced its use of artificial intelligence in editorial processes. The "Ebra" group, which owns the two newspapers, confirmed that this decision will not affect employment opportunities within the newspapers.
In the same context, the director of the two newspapers explained that the use of artificial intelligence in writing and editing processes is a natural evolution and inevitable. At the same time, the journalists' union emphasized that they will not leave the keys to information in the hands of electronic devices, stressing the importance of maintaining journalistic ethics even in the age of artificial intelligence.
