M42, a global tech-enabled healthcare network, has introduced Med42, an open-access Clinical Large Language Model (LLM) designed to advance ethical artificial intelligence in healthcare.
Launched in Abu Dhabi, Med42, with 70 billion parameters, is set to revolutionize healthcare by serving as an AI assistant for healthcare professionals. It simplifies complex medical queries, speeds up decision-making for doctors, assists pharmacists in dosage decisions, and supports scientists in reviewing medical literature efficiently.
Med42 achieved an impressive 72 percent score on the United States Medical Licensing Examination Sample Exam questions, surpassing larger closed models. Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, the CEO of M42, emphasized the importance of making AI accessible and ethical in healthcare, marking the UAE's prominence in the global generative AI field.
