Google added a new AI feature for proofreading

The new feature can check the text for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors and instantly correct them

The latest beta version of the Gboard app (v13.4) introduces a 'Proofread' option powered by generative AI. This feature checks text for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors, instantly correcting them. It enhances written content without the need for third-party tools like Grammarly.

The Proofread option appears in the Gboard's toolbar and offers a revised version of the content upon tapping, allowing users to accept or reject the changes with a thumbs-up or thumbs-down button. While this marks a significant advancement in autocorrect, there's hope that Google can perform such processing without relying on external servers in future updates.
