Meta launched Ray-Ban smart glasses with AI integration

Meta's new smart glasses will be able to translate text

At the 2023 Meta Connect conference, Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Meta's new Smart Glasses, which closely resemble regular Ray-Ban Wayfarers but are equipped with two small cameras and built-in speakers. These high-tech glasses have garnered significant attention, sparking both excitement and concern.

Some view them as a game-changing accessory with advanced AI capabilities, such as real-time object recognition and instant language translation. Zuckerberg emphasized the potential for AI assistants to see and hear what wearers experience. However, privacy concerns have arisen due to the discreet cameras, enabling wearers to capture photos and videos without others noticing.

Meta's second-generation Smart Glasses offer improved technology and a sleeker design compared to their predecessors. They boast two ultrawide 12 MP cameras for recording 1080p videos up to a minute in length and the ability to livestream content to platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

The glasses cater to various activities, from hiking to art shows, allowing users to effortlessly capture memories without relying on their smartphones. While some appreciate the convenience, skeptics worry about potential privacy breaches.
