Tesla plans to integrate Elon Musk’s new AI chatbot 'Grok' in its vehicles

The AI chatbot "Grok" aims to answer a wide range of questions with the addition of humor and intelligence to its responses.

Tesla is set to integrate Elon Musk's newly launched Grok AI assistant into its electric vehicles. Earlier this year, Musk launched a new AI startup called xAI, with a mission to understand the true nature of the universe. Grok AI is its first project, designed to function as a chatbot or AI assistant similar to ChatGPT.

The chatbot, named Grok AI, is modeled after the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and aims to answer a wide range of questions while injecting humor and wit into its responses. It will leverage data from xAI and be offered as part of Tesla's premium subscription service. Some reports suggest a smaller version of Grok will run directly in Tesla vehicles, utilizing local compute power.

Tesla has been increasingly focusing on voice commands in its vehicles, and Musk's vision is for vehicles to anticipate the owner's needs and perform tasks seamlessly. Grok AI appears to be a part of this plan, though there is no official timeline for its integration into Tesla vehicles. Early beta testing is underway, and it is expected to expand to more users in the future.
